Your commercial building should be a place where people feel comfortable when they visit, which is why having a properly functioning commercial AC is important. When customers stop in and see you and the weather is dreadfully hot, that nice cool air is welcoming enough that they may even hang around a little while. As important as the commercial air unit is to your business, this is one thing that business owners commonly know little about. If you know what usually makes these systems fail without warning, at the least, you can work to avoid problems. Here's a brief overview of the most common reasons you may need commercial ac services. 

Poor AC Maintenance Routines

It's easy to neglect the fact that the commercial unit needs regular attention for maintenance purposes. Moving parts must be properly lubricated, the exterior of the unit must be cleaned regularly, and the internal parts should be examined for problems. The general AC should get a checkup annually, but your commercial system may actually need attention even more than that. These units commonly need to have things done like tightening the belts, calibrating the system, and drainage verification on a pretty regular basis, especially if the unit is consistently in operation for several months out of the year. 

Overexhaustion of the AC Unit

The commercial air systems that are out there can be massive in size, but they are also quite expensive to obtain. In order to save money, some business owners skimp and go with smaller units that are not really designed to cool such a large space as their business. While the air conditioner may seem to work just fine, what happens in these situations is the unit literally works itself to death; it rarely ever will kick off. Too much of this and the air conditioner will eventually stop working because the expected lifespan is compromised by the overuse. 

Inadequate Protection from the Elements 

The majority of commercial air units are installed on the roof where they will be exposed to a great deal of stress even though this is the most logical position for the unit to be placed. The best setups will have the unit protected by an awning or metal shell, but even still, the placement on the roof can lead to problems with electrical problems due to lightning, damage from wind-thrown items, and an overcollection of water inside of the operational cavities.
